Harwood Wins Round #2 of Bumpy’s Auto Service Crusade for the Crown!
Groveton, NH- With questionable weather impacting the northern parts of New Hampshire and Vermont the past few weeks mother nature was dealing an unfavorable forecast once again. Despite this the decision to give the race a go was made! Just as teams started to arrive at the track the skies opened dropping a large amount of water, but it only lasted about 45 minutes and had no impact on the schedule. 15 cars were on property looking to do battle despite these setbacks.
Tom Harwood in car #29 paced both practice sessions. Harwood would later take the win in heat race #1 and Andrew Harmon in car #14 took the win in heat race #2. Based on chip draw for the feature Ryan Carman in car #08 would start on the pole and would be joined by the 0No of Chris Sullivan. Carman would rocket out to the lead and would have a commanding lead until lap 19 when the caution would fly for Sullivan spinning in turn 1.
The field would reset for the restart and Carman would be joined on the front row by Harwood. They would race side by side for numerous laps before Harwood was able to take over the top spot. Carman would turn his attention to holding onto the 2nd spot as Harmon and Cody Hodgdon (31) would be all over his rear bumper. Harmon would make the pass for the 2nd spot on lap 29 and Hodgdon followed him past Carman. Harwood captured the win with Harmon in 2nd, Hodgdon in 3rd, Carman in 4th and Riverside regular Roger Edgecomb in the 1x finished 5th.
