Harwood Caps off Magical Season with a Win at Star!
Epping, NH- The New England Dwarf Car Series present by Construction Site Machinery and Bumpy’s Auto Service ended its season this past Friday night at Star Speedway with the Bumpy’s Auto Service 30! 22 Dwarf cars made the trip to compete in the season finally on the cool fall night.
Heat race wins went to Zig Geno in the #57 and Tom Harwood in the #29. After the invert Duane Skofield in the #30 and Ryan Carman in the #08 led the field to the green. Skofield led early though the first 8 laps would be plagued by cautions and wrecked race cars. So much so that the cars were sent to the penalty box.
Once all other divisions ran their events the series rolled back onto the track with Harwood at the point. Harwood led the rest of the way despite Cody Hodgdon in the #31 doing everything he could to chase him down. Cody Hodgdon held on for 2nd but the storyline for the evening was 3rd place finisher Sarah Hodgdon in the #12. This was Sarah Hodgdon’s first career podium in the New England Dwarf Car Series.
As the checkered flag flew so did the caution as just as Harwood took the checkers car were spinning in turn 1 and 2. Ronnie Carman picked up his 2nd career top 5 finish as he was created with a 4th place finish. Mike Henderson in the 197 finally figured out what his car needs and was able to survive to finish 5th.
