Harmon and Harwood Split the Twin 20’s!

Hudson, NH- The New England Dwarf Car Series presented by Construction Site Machinery in association with Bumpy’s Auto Service with support from American Racer New England and Accelo Racewear rolled into the high banks of the original family fun track, Hudson Speedway, 19 cars deep for twin 20 lap features with lane choice or as we call it a cone race! It was a beautiful and super hot summer day for racing.

To make the day extra exciting General Manager Ryan Lawliss sold laps to create a purse to payout an overall combined finish. Through the support of fans, race teams, series officials, local tracks, and a series sponsor, Bumpy’s Auto Service, $1350 was raised for the purse which was going to give $50 for last and $200 for the overall win but during the series drivers meeting owner of Hudson Speedway and the New England Dwarf Car Series Ben Bosowski agreed to match the money raised doubling the payout. For a full list of all those that helped please check out our posts on our Facebook page.

To make it even better various donations of items were collected and given away to random finishers and additional money for hard charger of each feature was put up by Bumpy’s and American Racer New England handed an envelope to each individual feature winner.

“Top Gun” Tom Harwood in car #29 paced both practice sessions. Heat races would be used to set feature #1 and were won by the 26 of Eric Bacon, 0No of Chris Sullivan, and the 31 of Cody Hodgdon. In post heat race tech the 08x of Caden Roberts was disqualified for being over left side percentage and was penalized to the rear of the first feature line up.

By virtue of invert Andrew Harmon in the 14 found himself on the pole for feature #1. The race would be slowed 3 times, including one red flag period due to the track being blocked. Harmon would be up to the challenge as he would pick up his first win of the season followed by Hodgdon and Harwood rounded out the podium.

In the second feature Caden Robert’s 08x found himself on the pole and would lead early, till Harmon caught up and used the outside to take the lead. Harmons lead would be short lived as Harwood wrestled the top spot away on lap 12 and checked out to capture the win. Hodgdon would use a late pass to take the 2nd spot and Harmon had to settle for 3rd.
