Lupton Heads To Victory Lane

This weekend proved to everyone at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale that summer is here and is not going anywhere anytime soon. In what was a hot weekend with temperatures above 100 degrees all weekend, the High Point “blue crew” kept their cool and battled the heat and a late Friday night to bring home another first time rookie winner, and an impressive 1-2-3-4 finish in the S2 class. Dylan Lupton the driver of the #56 Lupton Excavation/ High Point Racing S2 drove an impressive race and took home his first stock car win.

On a weekend that was by far the hottest weekend so far this season, High Point did everything they could to stay cool and keep the cars going on a track that could best be described as a slip and slide. Race winner Lupton qualified third, but a 4 invert put Anderson on the pole with Lupton on the outside, and at the drop of the green flag Dylan took advantage of a bad start by Anderson and never looked back. Rookie Dylan Lupton quickly found his groove and with experienced High Point Late Model driver Rod Johnson Jr. coaching him around Dylan quickly found that “cruise control” switch and set sail for 25 laps bringing home yet another win for High Point Racing and his first win of his stock car racing career.

"All the hard work put into the season so far has finally paid off... this weekend has also been a huge confidence boost to myself and has helped us to get one step closer to taking over the points lead," Lupton explained.

Heading into the next race weekend, Dylan looks for another dominating performance in his S2 car.
