Johnny Scott tops night two of Winter Meltdown at Vado
Hopping behind the wheel of his Mesilla Valley Transportation No. 1st Modified, Johnny Scott invaded Vado Speedway Park (Vado, N.M.) on Friday afternoon to compete in the 25th running of the Rancho Milagro Winter Meltdown.
With a fourth-place finish in his heat race pinning him on the fifth row for Friday’s opener, Scott stormed forward seven spots in the 25-lapper to register a third-place finish. He chased Carlos Ahumada Jr. and Rodney Sanders to the checkers.
The following night, Johnny secured his spot into the Winter Meltdown finale with an eighth-to-second showing in his heat race. Leading flag-to-flag in the 25-lap affair, Scott fended off Rodney Sanders’ late charge to capture his first win of the season and a $3,000 payday.
