Stormy caps of WWS with fourth-place finish, Johnny grabs three top-10's

Scott Brothers Racing returned to Vado Speedway Park (Vado, N.M.) on Wednesday afternoon as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout resumed.

Johnny qualified for the feature via third-place heat finish while Stormy edged his way into the opener with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his B-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Johnny was an early retiree on lap 26 while Stormy pulled off four laps later.

Back in action on Friday, Johnny followed up a third-place finish in his heat with a 17th-to-9th run in the feature. Stormy raced his way into A-Main via B-Main victory and went onto gain six positions to finish 13th.

The following night, both drivers earned a spot into the feature in their heat race with Johnny finishing second and Stormy third. Battling for another $10,000 payday in the feature, Stormy made a late charge in the 40-lapper to finish eighth with Johnny trailing him in ninth.

For the Wild West Shootout finale on Sunday, Stormy timed in second-fastest in his time trial group before placing first in his heat. Johnny followed up a second-place finish in the heat with a 14th-place finish in the $25,000-to-win A-Main. Stormy recorded in his best finish of the event, racing to a fourth-place performance in the action-packed 50-lapper. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Kyle Larson, and Mike Marlar to the checkers with Garrett Alberson coming in fifth.

Stormy finished ninth and Johnny 10th in the Wild West Shootout miniseries championship.
