Williamson Set for Sprint Car Debut at Longdale Speedway and Double X Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBIA, Mo. (May 10, 2021) – Garet Williamson is planning to make his debut at a pair of dirt ovals this weekend.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver has an ASCS Sooner Region doubleheader on tap Friday and Saturday at Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Okla., before he heads to Double X Speedway in California, Mo., on Sunday.

“I think we’ve adapted well at tracks,” he said. “Everywhere has pretty much been new for us. We can normally unload and be pretty fast quickly.”

Although Williamson said he hasn’t even seen a video of Longdale Speedway, he has made some laps at Double X Speedway in a micro sprint. He noted that he has a pair of wins in approximately a dozen races at the track, which will add comfort as he makes his sprint car debut at the bullring this weekend.

“It’s only 40 minutes from the shop so that’s probably the closest track for us,” he said. “I’m looking forward to it and to heading to Longdale. I think a top five all three nights would be ideal and is doable. It’s what our year is needing right now.”

Williamson, who recently elected to pull of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in favor of a true pick-and-choose type of schedule, was off last weekend as all of the Midwest options rained out.

“I just spent the weekend watching some races online,” he said. “I’m always ready to go, but nothing makes you ready to race like watching other people race while you’re at home.”
