Williamson Builds Confidence With Win and Strong Runs During Marquee Events in 2021

Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBIA, Mo. (Nov. 2, 2021) – Garet Williamson soaked up as much as he could during a wild second season on the road with Bryant Paver Motorsports.
“The biggest thing is that we learned a lot this season and we were certainly battled tested,” he said. “I think you’re always going to face adversity going through race seasons. If you can make the downs as minimal as possible or you can get out of the hole quickly that’s ideal. I think we’re getting better at that.
“I learned a lot more of racing a full race and not just going out there wide open. You have to do that sometimes, but you have to have some kind of a game plan and race the race. You have to be smart about it.”
It paid off throughout the season as Williamson produced strong results during most of the bigger 360ci winged sprint car events in the summer and fall. He posted career-best runs at the 360 Knoxville Nationals as well as the Short Track Nationals. Williamson also earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.
His lone triumph of the season came on Aug. 1 when Williamson swept a Sprint Invaders event at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., winning a heat race, the dash and the main event.
“I don’t know if the win would be the biggest highlight of the year, but wins are a big deal,” he said. “Knoxville Nationals was big for us. We were fourth on our prelim night and we locked into the Saturday main event. That was cool locking into our first Nationals.”
Williamson also logged laps in a 410 sprint car, making his first career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series A Main as well as competing during the famed Ohio Sprint Speedweek with the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions.
“It was nice getting to run some 410 races,” he said. “The competition is insane. The level of competition throughout the field is really good, especially when we ran the Ohio Speedweek deal. Everybody was good. We didn’t run anything other than World of Outlaws or All Stars races so it was always tough in the 410.
“It was a good year for me and the team. I’m grateful for Bryant and his family for the opportunity as well as everyone who supported and helped our team. This was a good building block and I’m looking forward to taking another step forward next year.”
