Lupton Lands A Podium Finish
After many long and struggling weekends, Dylan Lupton, driver of the number 56 High Point Racing late model car, finally lands a podium finish in the third position. Since opening night, Lupton has proven that he is a front runner and one to watch for at the track, however, he has been marked with a string of bad luck. After getting crashed out of the first three races, Lupton was finally able to bring his car home to a fourth place effort earlier in the month and now a podium finish.
Qualifying proved to be an early sign for a close race when the top six drivers were only one tenth of a second off of one another. Although Lupton had his worst qualifying result of the season, he was able to round out the top five and start on the inside of row three for the fifty lap main event.
As the green flag dropped, Lupton was able to move up a position securing fourth place on the start. After getting into a groove, Dylan was also able to make a pass for third place. For the next thirty laps, Dylan Lupton ran in the third position before trying to make a run for second. Lupton fought on the bottom of the track for countless laps underneath second place, yet was unable to make the pass stick when the checkard flag dropped.
Lupton expressed, "My crew gave me a great car tonight for the race and I am happy to be able to get my first podium of the year. For the past few race weekends we have been struggling on just finishing the races, so this race is a huge relief and reward for me and the crew to finally bring the car home in one piece along with some hardware. We have shown that we are a front runner in this series and I am confident that a win is in the near future for us."
Dylan Lupton and his team looks for another podium finish in his coming race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on May 21, 2011. Dylan Lupton couldn't have accomplished what he has so far this year, without the many partners and people backing him. Lupton would like to thank Durocast Radio, Lupton Excavation, D Racing Enterprises, High Point Racing, Justice Brothers, Liz-Zard Engines, Racecar Factory, and all the fans for the support.
