Lupton Prepares For Toyota All-Star Showdown
Seventeen year-old Dylan Lupton will be starting the engine to the race of his career come January 28th, where he will be racing the Toyota Allstar Showdown at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. The race will mark the beginning to Lupton’s 2011 career where he will be piloting the #56 High Point Racing Late Model. Dylan plans on using this race as a test for the upcoming season.
“We want to make quality passes in the race, stay out of trouble, and finish with a top 10” said Lupton. When asked about any strategy for the new implementation of heat races for the late models in the showdown, he replied “to not take any unnecessary risks, but make sure we make the show.” With a couple races already under his belt, Lupton will be battling against top late model drivers for his chance to repeat what car owner Tim Huddleston was able to accomplish last year…Showdown victory.
Dylan Lupton’s High Point Racing career started in 2010 racing the #56 Langer’s Juice S2 car, racking up 3 wins in a season that saw 8 different drivers claim a victory. Not only did he excel against the competition, Lupton claimed the Rookie of the Year and Championship of his division as well. Working on being as prepared as they can be, the team has been conducting off-season testing. “Off-season testing has been going great” said Huddleston.
A fun side to High Point Racing is the history of each car in the stable, and even more amusing are the names they carry with them. Lupton’s #56 car has been nicknamed “Allstar” and has quite the record on Toyota Speedway’s racing surface. “Allstar” was the Tim Huddleston’s championship winning car in 2008, as well as the car he drove to victory in the 2010 Toyota Allstar Showdown Late Model event.
The Nascar Toyota Allstar Showdown will be at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on January 28th and 29th, and will be televised live on SPEED.
Dylan Lupton would like to thank all of his sponsors and partners for yet another great race weekend and victory: Durocast Radio, Lupton Excavation, D Racing Enterprises, High Point Racing, Justice Brothers, Liz-Zard Engines, Racecar Factory, and all the fans for the support.
