Rough couple of Weeks

The last couple of weeks have been tough ones for Eric and the crew. After breaking a steering arm in the heat race, on the 3rd of August, at Rock Rapids, the car was sent straight into the wall destroying the frame. The crew got busy right away at the track having the car tore down before the races were even over and once in the shop had it down to a bare, broken, chassis. Schulz grabbed the back up Schnee chassis while Schnee fixes the broke one and the crew worked hard all week long to get the new car ready for action.

Friday August 10th started off to be a great night! Eric took the freshly built #4 sprinter on to a heat race win, passing 4 cars in 6 laps! Then during intermission, Eric and the crew went up into the stands and passed out a ton of swag that Papik Motors out of Luverne MN had to give to the fans! Eric wound up staying in the stands longer than he expected as a large group of fans wanted autographs and pictures! Starting on the inside of the fourth row, Eric knew that he would have to hustle to the front. On the third lap of the feature, a car spun and Schulz had no option but to clip the wheel of the spinning car. After a quick check on the car, Eric headed back onto the track and started moving up in ranking untill the rear end came loose from the mounts seperating the drive shaft and ending his night. “It was really dissapointing,” exclaimed Eric, “the car was fast and we had a good chance till the rear end broke. The crew worked so hard this week, this is not the results they deserve.”

The shop was busy again after the races, and Eric will return next week to compete with the HRA at Rapid Speedway on Friday. Jackson will be running again on Saturday, so Eric will jump into the pilots seat of Dick Veekners sprinter. Sunday you will be able to find Eric in is own 410 Outlaw at Husets Speedway.
