Shipley notches fifth-place finish in Barney Oldfield Memorial

Saturday night found Colin Shipley in action at Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) for the Barney Oldfield Memorial. In a stout field of 38 Sunoco American Late Model Series (ALMS) entries, Shipley timed in third fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in 12th, Colin advanced forward seven spots to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Rusty Schlenk, Devin Shiels, Chris Keller, and Rich Bell to the checkers.

Sunday’s DIRTcar Summer Nationals event at Plymouth Speedway (Plymouth, Ind.) fell victim to Mother Nature.
