COMP Cams Super Dirt Series prepares for doubleheader weekend

By Ben Shelton (Beebe, AR) -- Fresh from enjoying a two week break to catch their breath after a fast start to the 2017 season, the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil will return to action this weekend, May 5-6 with a pair of events in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Two-time and defending series champion, Jack Sullivan will once again be the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man as the CCSDS resumes action. With a 21-point advantage atop the standings he’ll be sporting the florescent day-glow orange spoiler.

Kyle Beard, Garrett Alberson, B.J. Robinson, Jon Mitchell, Tanner Kellick, Zach McMillan, Gavin Landers, Robert Baker, and Hunter Rasdon currently round out the Top 10 in series standings.

Thus far into the year three drivers have visited series Victory Lane with Sullivan leading the way with a pair of wins, while Kyle Beard and Tim McCreadie each have a single triumph on the season.

The Rookie of the Year battle is currently led by Zach McMillan, who holds a single point advantage over Louisiana’s Tanner Kellick. Brandon Wilson is in third, six points removed from the lead.

Series action will open on Friday, May 5 at Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas) as a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start program will be contested.
