Inside Line Promotions – MURFREESBORO, Ark. (Sept. 13, 2017) – Seth Bergman earned a trio of top-five finishes, including a pair of podiums, during a tripleheader last weekend.

Bergman opened the weekend on Friday at Flint Creek Speedway in Colcord, Okla., where he finished fourth in an ASCS Red River Region heat race. That ranked him ninth in overall points and missed a spot in the feature redraw by only one position.

“We moved forward and finished with a top five so that was positive,” he said. “We’ve been struggling with various issues we’re trying to fix. Our focus is on winning so if you’re finishing in the top five you’re putting yourself in a position to win.”

Bergman rallied from ninth to a fifth-place result, which marked his fifth straight weekend with at least one top-five finish.

The momentum continued on Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., which hosted an ASCS Red River Region and ASCS Mid-South Region event. Bergman finished where he started – third – in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the A Main.

“We were buried pretty far in the A Main after not moving forward in the heat race,” he said. “The track widened out and we were able to move around in the main event. Cars were all over the track from the top to the bottom so you had to be able to maneuver and be good at many spots on the track. We had a good car and it showed by how far we were able to move forward.”

Bergman charged from 14th to third place to capture the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Diamond Park Speedway, where Bergman maneuvered from fifth to fourth place in a heat race to make the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 5 to start the main event on the inside of the third row.

“There wasn’t much passing so the draw and redraw were critical,” he said. “It came down to whoever started on the front row was likely going to win the race and unfortunately we started in the third row. We moved up a row on the start when the driver in front of us crashed and then we were able to gain another position. The track wasn’t super racy. Once you got going it was tough to make up ground. Midway through the race I moved to the bottom and started running the leader down. A caution came out at a bad time. Then he found the bottom. We had a restart and I was able to pull to his left rear, but that was as close as I could get.”

Bergman’s second-place finish was his 13th podium of the season.

He is slated to compete this Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region.
