NICK SAPP GETS FIRST WIN OF SEASON IN MOD LITES
Ryan Dryden threaded his way from fifth to lead in the early laps of the 15-lap Mod Lite feature. The only caution of the race would come on lap four when Jake Nelson, who was running in the top five got around. Dryden controlled the restart as Nick Sapp climbed from seventh into second.
At the halfway sign the top five were Dryden, Sapp, Ray Gulliver, Ty Short and James Hill. Sapp would move on top with six to go and pull away. Short mad a last lap charge getting by both Gulliver and Dryden. It was an emotional first win of the season for Sapp who recently lost his legendary grandfather, modified driver Jack Sapp. Short would finish in second with Dryden third. Fourth went to Gulliver and Mike Stratton rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Stratton and Gulliver.
