JAMES HILL MAKES LATE RACE PASS TO WIN MOD LITE MAIN

The 15-lap Mod Lite feature got off to a wild start when Jimmy Wills barrel rolled off the first turn. Wills was badly shaken but talking with safety personnel and was taken to Peninsula General Hospital for further evaluation.

Ryan Dryden would lead the first five laps before Alan Passwaters moved on top. James Hill followed into the second spot with Nick Sapp, making his first start of the season for Jack Vammino, coming from tenth to third. Passwaters held off the challenges of Hill until the final caution on lap 12. On the restart, Hill shot to the outside and took the lead.

Hill went on to post his fourth race of the season. Passwaters recorded a season’s best in second with Sapp third. Ty Short, making only his third start finished in fourth and Mike Stratton rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Wills and Passwaters.
