MEL JOSEPH, JR. WINS LITTLE LINCOLN - MATT CARMEAN SLIDES FOR 5
The Little Lincoln 12-lap feature was highly competitive with the front five cars running under a blanket for most of the race. Phil Tracy led the first two laps before Bill Brittingham worked on top. Mel Joseph, Jr. was on the move on the bottom taking third from John Stevenson then second from Tracy.
Just as Joseph was about to make a move on Brittingham, the one and only caution of the race flew when Dylan Betts, who had been running in fifth, slowed to a stop at the bottom of the fourth turn. Joseph went back to applying the pressure on the restart. Coming off the fourth turn for the white flag, Brittingham lost the handle and got down into the infield allowing Joseph to move by for the lead. Joseph held off Tracy and Stevenson in the final two turns to take the win. Tracy finished in second with Stevenson third. Fourth went to Ryan Walsen and Brittingham recovered to finish in fifth.
Matt Carmean led the first and last lap of the Slide for 5. Robert Reed led laps two through four but going into the third turn on the final lap, Carmean was able to get back by and take the win. After taking the checkered, Carmean ran into the rear of a car that was stopped going into the first turn and wiped out his winning car! Second through fifth were Reed, Charles Shawver, Charles Moore and Josh Hudson.
