"Jimbo" Sommers Passes Away
Heaven gained another racer on 8/27/18 as competitor and friend "Jimbo" James Sommers passed away. Jimbo began racing in the late 50s and continued his career as long as his body would allow. Known as "Beaver Dam's Resident Senior Citizen", Jimbo put on many great battles with drivers throughout his days racing legends. He was always warm and welcoming and could often be found in the pits telling stories or mentoring young racers. Jimbo will be missed by many, and the Wisconsin Legend Dirt Racing Series would like to send their sympathies to Jimbo's family.
