Caho Dominates Rice Lake TSCS Show
Caho Dominates Traditional Sprints At Rice Lake
Rice Lake, WI

The first-ever appearance by the UMSS Traditional Sprint Car Series (TSCS) at the Rice Lake Speedway on May 25 proved to be a good one for Wyoming, Minnesota driver Rob Caho Jr. Caho, the defending TSCS Champion, completely dominated the field in the 15 lap feature race. Rookie Mike Mueller led the opening lap, but once Caho captured the top spot, it was lights out for the rest of the race. Caho earned his first win of the season over Johnny Parsons III and edged past the Owatonna driver to take over the top spot in the point standings early in the 2013 season.
A decent field of 11 TSCS sprints were on hand. 2011 TSCS Champion Kevin Bradwell missed his very first non-wing event for the series. Bradwell flipped at St. Croix Valley Raceway on Friday night, destroying his car. Two 6-lap heat races were run using passing and finishing points to determine the lineup for the feature event. Caho and Parsons took top honors in the heats. Parsons was the high point driver and drew the number four pill for the feature race invert.
Mueller and Caho brought the field to the green. Mueller was able to lead the first lap, but Caho motored by the rookie driver exiting turn two on the next lap and began to pull away from the field. Only one caution slowed the pace with six laps scored for debris in turn 3. Caho was not phased by this momentary setback, as he opened up a huge lead in the remaining nine laps. Parsons got by Mueller for second following the restart, but was never close to Caho. Katrina Sautbine, who had won the previous night at St. Croix Valley Raceway, moved to third with two laps remaining. Mueller held on for fourth with Lucas Milz in fifth. The rest of the field saw Brad Nelson, Ryan Olson, Jeff Pellersels, rookie Brian VanMeveren, Cam Schafer, and Denny Stordahl all finish.
The Traditional sprints race once again at their home track, St. Croix Valley Raceway, on May 31. The IRA Outlaw 410 sprint cars will also be at SCVR that night.
