Chick Makes JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Final Four in the Chase for the Championship

Inside Line Promotions – INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 3, 2018) – Mandy Chick has advanced into the final four of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship battle after her performance last weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway.
On Friday, Chick and the team made a stop at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Ind., for additional testing with Butch and Johnny VanDoorn of VanDoorn Racing Development in preparation for the season finale.
“Testing on Friday definitely helped us out a lot,” Chick said. “We learned a lot and were able to pick up some speed around that high-banked track. Working on race trim was our main focus because that’s what it is going to take to win a championship.”
The team traveled to Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour practice and qualifying. Chick laid down a qualifying lap that put her 24th quickest.
“It was different going from such a high-banked track like Winchester to Lucas Oil Raceway, which is probably one of the flattest tracks on the tour,” she said. “I look back now and see how much I learned over the weekend from the different tracks and driving styles.
“We struggled a little bit in qualifying. Our finish also does not show how hard my team worked to get us in a place to make the final four for the Chase for the Championship. I’ve extremely proud of all their hard work last weekend.”
Chick maneuvered her way up to 17th by the finish of the 100-lap feature. She held off fellow competitor Chad Pendleton for position and to earn enough points to claim her spot into the final four in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship. Chick also was awarded the AR Bodies Cool Move of the Race for holding off Pendleton in the late race battle.
“I’m excited going into the final race at Winchester,” Chick said. “It’s my favorite track on the tour and I think we are all going there with high expectations. It’ll be intense, but exciting.”
The winner of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship will be determined by the highest finishing driver of the final four at Winchester Speedway on Oct. 12.
Since Chick is locked into the Chase she is also eligible for the 2018 CRA Most Popular Driver Award. Fans are able to vote for the most popular driver at Speed51.com once a day.
