Chick Begins JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship Hunt at Birch Run Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – DE SOTO, Kan. (April 26, 2018) – Mandy Chick is ready to kick off her chase for the championship with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance this weekend at Birch Run Speedway during the Dixie 100.
“It’s definitely been a long offseason with remodeling the shop and preparing our cars for this upcoming season,” Chick said. “We have put a lot of hard work into this season and I think we are more than prepared to tackle the full season. It’s a lot of commitment from the team and myself to make a run for the points championship, but I believe in my team and what we can do to have a strong year.”
Chick will make the trip to the asphalt paved oval on Saturday for practice and qualifying for the event.
“One of my personal goals for this season is to work on qualifying,” she said. “That is what makes the line between a top five and a top-10 finish and sets the pace for the feature event. I’m hoping to have a top 10 to top 15 qualifying run so we can work our way forward and score a good finish to start off the season.”
The Dixie 100 will take place on Sunday and will be Chick’s first race around the 4/10-mile oval.
“I’m really excited to get to Birch Run,” she said. “It’ll be my first time at this track so I’ve been studying the track’s characteristics and watching race videos to get a feel for the place and learn what I can before getting there. I’ve also reached out to a couple of drivers, like Johnny VanDoorn with VanDoorn Racing Development, to get some advice and pointers as well.”
