Mike Benedum Enters Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora
Mike Benedum traveled to the historic Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) over the weekend to compete in the 20th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream 100.
Action opened on Thursday night as a field of seventy-eight entries assembled at the 1/2 mile oval, and were divided into a pair of $2,500-to-win programs.
Unfortunately, struggles in heat race and b-main action caused Benedum not to reach a transfer position, bringing his night to an early end.
Round #2 of the 20th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream 100 was contested on Friday evening, as the field was once again divided into a pair of $5,000-to-win programs. A sixth place finish in heat race action found Benedum starting ninth in his b-main. He charged from the back of the pack to a third place finish, earning him a starting spot in the evenings 25 lap finale. In the main event Mike retired early to a 22nd place finish.
Saturday saw the $100,000-to-win finale for the 20th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream 100, and a sixth place finish in heat race action sent Mike to a b-main. Unfortunately he failed to reach a transfer spot in the b-main, ending his hopes of shot in the 100 lap finale.
