Benedum Competes in Busy Labor Day Weekend
Mike Benedum opened his Labor Day weekend on Friday night in his #25 BSI Well Service/Longhorn/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model in a $10,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series event at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania). Thirty-eight Super Late Models entered the program. Mike fell short of a transfer position in heat race action, but later won his b-main to lock into the eighteenth starting spot on the feature grid. During the course of the 50 lapper Benedum advanced to a seventeenth place finish. Full results from the event are available at www.WoOLMS.com
Sunday evening found competition shifting to I-77 Raceway Park (Ripley, West Virginia) for the 46th Annual Hillbilly Hundred, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). A stout field of forty-two Super Late Model entries registered for action in the crown jewel but unfortunately, Benedum failed to reach a transfer position in heat race or b-main action as his night came to an early end.
