Theiss Debuts with Summer Nationals Hell Tour

Making the trip to the Land of Lincoln, Austin Theiss kicked off the Fourth of July weekend on Friday at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) for the regular night of racing. After timing in sixth fastest in a field of 16 cars, Theiss landed a 4th place finish in his heat race locking him into the 8th-starting spot for the feature. Holding his spot for the entire distance, Austin recorded an 8th place outing.

Saturday night brought Theiss to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the MARS DIRTcar East Series sanctioned event. With 26 Super Late Models on hand, Austin secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Starting in 12th for the Born Free 40, Theiss held on for all 40-laps to place 12th.

On Sunday Austin made his first start of UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour for $5,000 top prize at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Illinois). Following the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, Theiss spun around on lap 5 of his heat race sending him back to a 9th place outing. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his consolation event to make the show, Austin fell short with a 7th place outing. (DirtonDirt photo)
