Krug scores first win of 2020 at I80 Speedway

Josh Krug Racing – Ashland-Greenwood, Neb. (07/10/2020) - A disqualification of feature winner Bill Leighton Jr. allowed Josh Krug to pick up his first win of 2020.

After winning his heat, Krug started on the outside of the front row of the night's feature. Krug took the lead early on and seemed to be checking out from the field as the race went on.

Bill Leighton started to real in Krug in the closing laps, eventually making the pass for the lead in the final corner after Krug went high. Leighton slid low and was able to steel the win off of turn four coming to the checkered flag.

Following post race inspection, i-80 Speedway officials deemed Leighton's restrictor plate to be to large and was disqualified. Officials then declared Krug to be the feature winner.
