Erb passes 12 cars in River Days Rumble at Portsmouth
Debuting in a MB Customs Race Car, Tyler Erb made a surprise start at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Friday evening for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned Milton Hershey School Back to Class Showdown.
Sneaking into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, Erb was scored 21st in the final rundown after shredded right-rear tire on lap 14 forced him to pit while running 12th.
Trekking overnight to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio), Tyler was one of 34 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries signed in on Saturday for the River Days Rumble. After missing a transfer spot in his heat, Erb scratched from his consolation race and elected to pull of his secondary car for the feature. Coming one spot shy of a top-10 finish, Tyler passed 12 cars in the 50-lapper to place 11th.
For the 55th running of the Hillbilly 100 on Sunday at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W. Va.), Erb put on another impressive show in the main event after failing to qualify in his heat and B-Main. Starting the $30,000-to-win finale in 23rd, Tyler capped off the weekend with a 23rd-to-14th run.
Tyler sits in eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
