Erb passes 11 cars to finish sixth in Buckeye Spring 50 at Atomic
Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) after Mother Nature wiped out the tour events slated for both March and April.
Amongst a field of 42 cars for the ninth running of the Buckeye Spring 50, Erb crossed the line in first in his heat but was penalized for failing the droop test, relegating him into a B-Main. With a consolation victory placing him on the ninth row for the main event, Tyler advanced forward 11 spots in the 50-lapper to finish sixth.
For another $12,000-to-win event on Friday at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.), Tyler edged his way into the John Bradshaw Memorial A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Wheeling his way into the top-10 again, Erb improved eight positions to register an eighth-place finish.
On Saturday afternoon at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) for the Ralph Latham Memorial, Erb grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 15th on the starting grid for the main event. With $15,000 on the line, Tyler jumped up two spots to place 12th.
Erb sits eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
