Pospisil Sweeps Tri-State Late Model Series Event at Jackson Motorplex
Tad Pospisil invaded Jackson Motorplex (Jackson, Mn.) on Friday evening pulling double duty with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series and Tri-State Late Model Series. With 26 World of Outlaws entries on hand for the Drydene Double Down Invitational, Pospisil recorded the ninth fastest lap in his time trial group before placing third in his heat race. Starting the $6,000-to-win opening night feature in ninth, Tad got involved in a tangle on fifth lap that saw him retire early from the 30-lapper.
With a small field of 13 Tri-State Late Model Series entries compressing the preliminary program into two Dashes, Tad took advantage of his pole position in his first Dash, cruising to the 15-lap victory. Starting the second Dash in sixth, Pospisil navigated his way to the front to pick up the win.
For the second round of the Drydene Double Down Invitational on Saturday, Tad followed up the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group with a fifth place finish in his heat. Earning the 21-starting position for the $20,000-to-win finale, Pospisil was an early retiree from the 60-lap feature on lap 40.
During the same night with the Tri-State Late Model Series, Pospisil locked his spot into the A-Main with a second place finish in his heat behind Cory Dumpert. Holding off Dumpert in the 20-lap feature, Tad soared to his first win of the season over Dumpert, Scott Ward, Chad Olsen, and Justin Boomsma. He earned a $1,000 payday for his dominant performance.
On Sunday afternoon Pospisil stopped at Stuart Speedway (Stuart, Iowa) for the Malvern Bank Series season-opener. After jumping up one spot in his heat to place second behind Josh Leonard, Mother Nature made an appearance before the start of the feature and postponed the 30-lapper to a later date.
