Trio of podium finishes in USRA Nationals at Wheatland

Thursday found Rodney Sanders in action at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) as eighth annual Summit USRA Nationals got underway. In a field of 70 cars, Rodney gained four spots in his heat race to place second. Starting the preliminary feature in third, Sanders jumped up one spot to register a runner-up finish. He trailed Dustin Sorensen across the line with Tyler Wolff rounding out the podium.

For another round of preliminary features on Friday, Sanders followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a 15th-to-third run in his A-Main.

With his spot already locked into the finale on Saturday, Rodney improved two positions in the 40-lapper to place second. He followed Dustin Sorensen to the checkers with Tanner Mullens, Tyler Wolff, and Matt Johnson completing the Top-5 finishers.
