The question of “What’s next?” didn’t immediately pop into Matt Tifft’s head as he was loaded into an ambulance inside Martinsville Speedway in late October 2019. On this day, the question of whether he’d ever race professionally again was not on his mind, but it became something he contemplated many times in the years since.
