Tifft okay after wild ride at Eriez
Matt Tifft returned to the dirt on Friday at Erie, Pennsylvania’s Eriez Speedway as part of the track's September Sweep. However, his night came to an abrupt end after a scary crash.
The 12th annual event brought 24 Super Late Model competitors to the 3/8-mile oval for the program paying $5,000 to win. Tifft qualified 10th in his GUNK No. 57 Super Late Model and was running third in his heat race when he caught the cushion wrong in turn one, sending him flipping a half dozen times.
He walked away unhurt, but was unable to continue on to the night’s 35-lap feature.
