Independence Shootout at Senoia Raceway Up Next

EVANS, Ga. (07/02/24) – Brandon Overton increased his 2024 win total to eight with a preliminary victory in Friday’s Volunteer 50 at Volunteer Speedway aboard his Wells & Sons Motorsports No. 76 Convenient Lube / Muscle Factory/ Wells Motorsports Infinity Race Car / Clements Racing Engines - powered Super Late Model.

The Evans, Georgia driver added a third-place finish in the $50,050-to-win finale on Saturday after grabbing the $5,000 prelim on Friday.

“I just gotta thank my guys that work on the car and Wells Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to drive this thing,“ Overton said. “It’s a total team effort and I am just glad I could provide the results for everyone that helps out. I am excited we’re hitting our stride with July right around the corner.”

Brandon Overton took his Wells Motorsports No. 76 Infinity Chassis Late Model into battle at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Friday as the 4/10-mile oval was celebrating 50 years of racing with the Volunteer 50 weekend.

With the 42-car field separated into two groups for prelims on Friday, Brandon went second-fastest in his time trial group before leading flag-to-flag in his 25-lap preliminary feature. He earned a $5,000 payday for the win that marked his eighth of the season.

Starting on the front row for Saturday night’s $50,050-to-win Volunteer 50 A-Main, Overton rolled to a consistent third-place finish in the 50-lap finale. He chased race-long pacesetter Dale McDowell and Mike Marlar to the checkers.

Sunday's Schaeffer's Spring Nationals event scheduled for Beckley (W. Va.) Motor Speedway fell to wet weather.
