Overton drives to fourth in XR 604 Nationals at All-Tech Raceway
Brandon Overton made a guest appearance aboard the Cameron Tribble-owned No. 1 Late Model over the weekend for the inaugural XR 604 Nationals at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.).
With the four-day event amassing over 100 Crate Late Models, Overton backed up a strong qualifying effort in his group on Wednesday with a 10th-place finish in qualifier on Thursday night.
Returning to the half-mile oval on Saturday, Brandon squeezed into the $100,000-to-win XR 604 Nationals main event with a fourth-place finish in his consolation race. Pinned on the 12th row, Overton made an impressive charge forward as he passed 20 cars in the 60-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He chased race-winner Randy Weaver, Michael Brown, and Mason Zeigler to the checkers with Ricky Weiss finishing fifth.
