Justin Duty takes on tough challenges at Fairbury

Double Duty Motorsports pilot Justin Duty competed for three nights at Fairbury (Illinois) Speedway over the past week. He raced his No. 15 Don Frank Floors Super Late Model against some of the strongest teams in the Dirt Late Model discipline along the way.

On Wednesday, Duty entered the Castrol FloRacing Night in America One for the Road event at the quarter-mile Fairbury track. He was one of 65 entrants chasing a $20,000 winner’s share in the fifth annual program. Duty grabbed sixth in his heat race and finished eighth in his B-Main, ending his evening before the 50-lap feature.

Next, Duty was among 78 World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model drivers that descended on Fairbury for the crown-jewel Prairie Dirt Classic over the weekend.

On Friday, he started 19th and finished 16th in one of four 25-lap, $5,000-to-win preliminary Showdown Features.

Without having earned a transfer into Saturday night’s 100-lap finale, Duty started his Saturday run with a 16th-to-8th charge in his Last Chance Showdown. That put him in the Prairie Dirt Classic, where the winner could pocket $3,500 or start shotgun on the field in the feature. Duty mounted a valiant effort as he began 18th on the grid and finished ninth in the 30-lap race. However, he came up short of moving into the $50,000-to-win main event.
