Top-10 results for Justin Duty in full weekend of MARS competition

Justin Duty and his Double Duty Motorsports team returned to action in the Midwest from Friday through Sunday, competing in three $5,000-to-win Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Late Model Championship events in Illinois and Missouri.

First up, Duty raced among 35 DIRTcar Late Model competitors in the 14th annual Jr. Kimler Memorial at Farmer City (Illinois) Raceway on Friday evening. He drove his First Class Septic No. 15 machine to a fourth-place finish in his heat race on the quarter-mile oval, positioning him 13th to begin the 40-lap feature. Duty advanced a solid five positions in the race to come home eighth.

On Saturday, the MARS Late Models traveled to Pevely, Missouri, and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. An impressive field of 42 Late Models filled the pit area of the 1/3-mile track for the Tribute to Dandy Don Klein. Duty again took fourth in his heat, this time putting him 15th on the grid to begin the A-Main. He charged forward nine spots in the 40-lapper to record a sixth-place finish.

The three-race slate wrapped up back in the Land of Lincoln on Sunday with a stop at the 1/3-mile Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois. Twenty-six Late Model drivers were on hand for the Adams County Showdown. Duty used a third-place result in his heat to start on the fourth row in the night’s 40-lap main event. He climbed one position to round out his weekend with a seventh-place finish.

After the trio of races, Duty sits fifth in the MARS Late Model point standings.
