Show-Me 100 weekend brings Duty to Lucas Oil Speedway
After Mother Nature shifted Thursday’s event to Friday afternoon, Justin Duty kicked off his Memorial Day weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Friday for the Cowboy Classic. Drawing 58 Late Models for the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Lucas Oil MLRA, Duty recorded a sixth-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. Needing to place second or better, Justin logged a fifth-place outing. (Heath Lawson photo)
Later Friday evening for the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, Justin came in sixth in his heat race but scratched from his 10-lap consolation event.
With preliminary results on Friday pinning Duty 11th on the starting grid in his B-Main on Saturday for one final shot at the $30,000-to-win Show-Me 100, Duty elected to save equipment and scratched from the 15-lapper.
