BDS Motorsports to field three-car team for the 2018 ASCS National Tour
Newton, IA (January 25, 2018) After following the ASCS National Tour in 2017 with multiple drivers in the #1 car, BDS Motorsports is excited to announce a full-on attack on the ASCS National Tour in 2018 with three full-time cars and drivers. While the 2017 season didn’t go quite as planned after several mid-season changes, team owner Bryan Sundby is excited about what the BDS team will be bringing to the track this year. The team setup will feature a balance of young up and coming talent, as well as a proven veteran winner and champion. So, here’s the lineup for BDS Motorsports in 2018:
Driving the BDS Motorsports #1 car will be former ASCS National Champion, Travis Rilat. Rilat joined BDS Motorsports on a limited basis in 2017 and found success at Cocopah Speedway when he parked the #1 car in Victory Lane after just a few nights with the team. He and Sundby also teamed up for the 32nd Annual Chili Bowl Nationals, where he piloted the BDS #1B into Tuesday night’s A-main event. Travis brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be a threat night in and night out during the 2018 season.
Next up, making his first attempt at the full ASCS National Tour will be 19-year-old Robbie Price from Cobble Hill, British Columbia. Robbie began racing at just eight years old and has experience in quarter midgets, micros, and winged sprint cars. In 2017, Robbie picked up three feature wins and a season points championship at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Washington. Robbie will be piloting the BDS #21 in 2018 and will be looking to break into ASCS National Tour Victory Lane.
Rounding out the 2018 BDS lineup will by 2017 ASCS National Rookie of the Year, 18-year-old Skylar Gee from Leduc, Alberta Canada. Skylar began his racing career at five years old in quarter midgets before moving into micro sprints and most recently winged sprint cars. In 2016, Skylar won the ASCS Frontier Region championship before joining the ASCS National Tour full-time in 2017. Skylar is also looking to break into ASCS National Tour Victory Lane as he makes his second attempt at the full ASCS National Tour.
It's going to be a busy season for the BDS Motorsports team. In addition to the three-car team each race night, the team’s PR company, Over the Top Marketing and Promotion, will also be making its return during the 2018 season. In 2017, the Over the Top team met and interacted with well over 15,000 fans during its race track and social gathering appearances. From the local dirt track, to the Knoxville Nationals, and even several events at the Iowa Speedway, Dave and the PR team are looking forward to another great season with the best fans in all sports. Be sure to come out and see the Over the Top trailer at a race near you and if you have a little race fan in your family, be sure to sign he or she up for the BDS Motorsports Kid’s Club.
