PETERSEN MEDIA- As the World of Outlaws crashed the Super Dirt Week party on Saturday night at Fulton Speedway, Ian Madsen would have another strong night during his first full season on the road as he captured his 30th Top-10 finish of the season by way of his seventh place result.
“Early in the night the track was pretty narrow and around the bottom, but in the feature things widened out and we were able to move around,” Ian Madsen said. “The series did a great job of beating the weather, and my guys did a great job of giving me a good car and we came away with a decent result.”
Timing the Logan Contractors Supply Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 entry in eighth quickest in qualifying time trials, Madsen would line up in the second row of his heat race.
Slipping back one position as the field jockeyed for position in the bottom groove, Madsen’s fourth place finish would place him in the 11th starting position for the feature event.
When the race came to life, Madsen was able to search around the Fulton Speedway and find some things to his liking, as he was able to quickly make his way inside the Top-10.
Once inside the Top-10, Madsen would continue to dig as the track seemed to get more racy as the laps clicked off. Racing up into the seventh spot in the fast paced feature event, Madsen would score his 30th Top-10 finish of the season with the waiving of the checkered flag.
“The track was pretty fast around the bottom early in the night, but fortunately it seemed to get more racy as the night progressed,” Madsen noted. “It is always good to move forward and we will take our Top-10 and focus on the Midwest now.”
Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, Coverage Direct, Revolution Race Gear, Monarch’s, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
