PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending the weekend in Cedar Lake, WI, Ian Madsen and the KCP Racing team would continue their stretch of consistent finishes with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series as Madsen would record finishes of ninth and seventh place.

“It was a decent weekend for our team, and it is good to get this KCP Racing car some consistent finishes,” Ian Madsen said. “We are not quite where we want and need to be, but we are feeling really confident heading into the ‘Month of Money’.”

Battling with drivers like Logan Schuchart, Shane Stewart, and Kraig Kinser, Madsen would continue to keep his machine running well inside the Top-10. As the laps clicked off, Madsen would settle into ninth and would go onto finish there.

Picking up the heat race win, Madsen moved into the Sears Craftsman Dash where a fifth place finish put him fifth on the starting grid for the 41-lap feature event that was in honor of the late Jason Johnson’s birthday.

For the second night in a row, Madsen would spend the duration of the feature event fighting hard inside the Top-10 battling with Cory Eliason and Sheldon Haudenschild. Mixing it up with the youngsters, Madsen would close his weekend out with his 16th Top-10 of the season as he took the checked flag in seventh.

“It was a nice way to kick off a really busy stretch in our schedule,” Ian Madsen said. “It will be nice getting back to some places we have been to before and have a little more knowledge of what works for us and what doesn’t. Huge thanks to my guys for always working so hard, and to Brett, Matt, and everyone that supports KCP Racing.”
