Graves Motorsports and Kolt Walker Growing Through First Third of Season

Inside Line Promotions – LUBBOCK, Texas (June 2, 2014) – Graves Motorsports and driver Kolt Walker rank third in the ASCS Lone Star Region championship standings approximately one third of the way through the schedule.

The team took last weekend off and will stay home this weekend preparing for the next ASCS Lone Star doubleheader – June 13 at Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, and June 14 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.

“We’re just trying to make some little changes,” Walker said. “We’re working on our shocks this week to make some minor adjustments.”

Since a slow start to the season Graves Motorsports has earned six top 10s in the last seven races. Walker is only 20 points out of second place and 51 markers out of the lead.

“Our struggles from last year continued on over to the start of this year,” he said. “When we made that big chassis change we drastically improved. We’ve been consistent. I think that’s the big key. Now that I’ve got a handle on the car I think we can focus on the shocks. Now we can fine-tune minor adjustments and the rest of it is staying focused as a driver.”

The attention remains on the ASCS Lone Star Region championship, which would be the first for Walker.

“We’ve just got to finish races in the top five every night and I think it’ll get the job done,” he said. “We’ve run second and we’ve run third (in the championship standings), but we never have won it.”
