FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In several micro sprint attempts at the Rumble in Ft. Wayne (Ind.), Ohio sprint car standout Cap Henry had been held winless. That all changed this weekend, when Henry finally parked his entry on the front stretch to close out the 2015 event.

Moving into the pit area on Christmas Day, Henry quickly navigated the track in practice that evening. He hoped to do the same on Saturday afternoon in qualifying, and did just that. On each of two laps, which set Saturday and Sunday’s qualifying times, respectively, Henry logged the second-quickest lap behind teammate John Ivy, including a 7.986-second run on lap one.

A four-car inversion for each heat race put him starting fourth in his on both days. In Saturday’s heat race, Henry quickly came to the forefront and took the checkered. A six-car invert for the feature meant he’d start fifth, with Ivy alongside. The two had the field covered for the vast majority of the race, but Henry trailed Ivy to the finish.

Sunday started like Saturday did, with a quick effort from Henry earning him a heat race victory. Again from fifth on the main event grid, he moved his No. 17 forward even quicker, aided by two early cautions. A lap-four restart allowed Henry to move up to second, and he battled for the lead soon after. Making a move off turn four completing lap 15, Henry and the leader touched, with Henry emerging as the new leader. From there, it was all Henry, and the Bellevue, Ohio native earned the victory. He was quick to thank his team and sponsors for their help. “I’m so grateful for everyone that’s a part of this,” Henry ensured. “Finally won a 600 (micro) feature at the Rumble!”

Henry would like to thank Simpson Race Products, FK Rod Ends, Keizer Wheels, Henry Motorsports, Sonny’s Machine, and Atkinson Farms, as well as his family and his crew for their continued support.
