FREMONT, Ohio – Off to a hot start in 2015, Cap Henry completed a pair of fourth-place showings over the weekend, first at Attica Raceway Park on Friday and then at Fremont Speedway on Saturday. The start should be no surprise, however, as he has finished no worse than sixth in the state of Ohio dating back to May 30 of last season, when the World of Outlaws invaded at Attica.

The first of the two Ohio one-third mile courses set for the weekend, Attica hosted the opening race of the Fremont-Attica Sprint Title series on Friday night. Henry again had a less-than-ideal qualifying lap (the result of a loose ignition box), with his 12.898-second lap putting him 19th on the sheet out of 28 cars taking time. Four heat races would be contested, with Henry slated to start fifth in the final heat. Two positions gained to finish third would earn him a transfer to the feature race.

For feature competition, Henry would find himself starting outside the top-ten for the third consecutive race, having to fight his way forward and collect a good finish. Unlike the other races, however, he’d have to do it in what would be a green-to-checkered race with no cautions. Starting 12th in the 30-lapper, it’d take him just two laps to flash into the top-ten, before making the move into ninth one circuit later. With a huge gap to close to reach the eighth-place car, Henry focused on running consistent laps, reeled in his foe, and made the pass with ten laps complete. Over the next ten laps, the Bellevue, Ohio racer would keep his brisk pace, using the bottom side of the speedway to break into the top five on the 21st round. The constant green-flag conditions allowed the field to stretch out around the track, and Henry had another gap to close to pick up more position. Henry’s blistering lap times in the late going allowed him to make his final pass with three laps left to finish fourth.

The No. 53 Genzman Racing Enterprises machine was prepared for competition on Saturday at Fremont, where 24 sprint cars signed in to compete in the FAST 410 division. Henry wheeled to a 13.009-second lap in qualifying, a seventh-place effort that put an end to his recent qualifying tribulations. Finding himself starting fourth in the first of three heat races, the J&J/Level Performance entry picked up two spots in heat race battle for the second time on the weekend, this time finishing second. Earning a spot in the six-lap dash, Henry started third but fell one position to finish fourth, which determined his feature starting spot.

Henry was never able to muster a serious challenge for the third spot throughout the 30-lap main event, finishing where he started in fourth. He wasn’t the only one that had a hard time passing, however, as no racer was able to pass more than six cars during the race. “The track was pretty slow and slick all day,” Henry professed, but added that he can’t complain in light of his solid finish.

Henry would like to thank Level Performance, J&J Auto Racing, OC Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, HMS Speedways & Hobbies, Handy Grafix, and Kear's Speed Shop as well as his family, the Genzman team, and all of his great fans for their continued support.

Henry is next scheduled to compete on April 24 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and on April 25 at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, both in the No. 53 410ci winged sprint entry.
