Helms Tackling 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway This Friday and Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 20, 2016) – Caleb Helms grew up watching races at Eldora Speedway.

The half-mile oval near Rossburg, Ohio, is a little more than an hour away from his shop. From a child watching his dad compete to participating in the action on the high-banked track himself, Helms has an affection for Eldora Speedway.

“It’s always exciting to race at Eldora,” he said. “It’s pretty awesome that that cool of a track is close to home. I look forward to racing there and hopefully being able to put together two full nights this weekend.”

Helms will tackle a pair of races at the track this weekend during the 4-Crown Nationals, which features a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series race on Friday and an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions event on Saturday.

“My favorite part is racing around the wall and the slide jobs,” he said. “I like how fast it is and it seems to fit my driving style. I always find it really fun to be racing around that track.”

Helms has a season-best finish of 15th at the track and he’s hopeful he can produce a top 10 or two this weekend.

“You definitely have to be on your game to come out with a top 10 at Eldora,” he said. “It’s critical that you’re up on the wheel every lap and that you have a car capable of maneuvering around the track in order to be in contention for a good result there.”
