Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (June 28, 2016) – Caleb Helms closed the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek with a good performance last Saturday at Eldora Speedway.

Helms qualified 15th quickest overall and fifth in his group to miss the heat race inversion by only one spot. He then finished seventh in a heat race before placing fourth in the B Main to transfer into the 24th starting position for the main event.

“When you’re racing at Eldora behind all those cars it’s tough to run the line you want to run,” he said. “We went down a lap around Lap 9. After the restart I started passing cars. The leaders caught me and I was still passing cars. It was working pretty good.”

Helms rallied from 24th to place 15th, which was tied for the most cars passed in the main event.

“It was great to end Speedweek by moving forward,” he said. “We certainly aren’t happy with 15th place, but we are happy about the progress we are making when tracks slick off.”

Prior to the finale Helms competed last Tuesday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he timed in 23rd quickest overall and third in his group. He won a heat race to start ninth in the main event.

“In the feature we had the same exact feeling we’ve been having,” he said. “I wasn’t able to get off the corners. There was a rough patch off turn two and I hit that and lost a bunch of spots. A few laps later I got hit in the back by someone and it spun me around. That was just a rough night.”

Friday didn’t get much easier for Helms, who ended 27th at Atomic Speedway, as he invaded Lima Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. He qualified 14th quickest overall, which ranked fifth in his group to once again narrowly miss the heat race inversion. Helms then faded out of a transfer position in the B Main and had to use a provisional to start at the back of the field for the main event.

The team struggled throughout the feature and Helms ended with a DNF after tipping over following contact with another driver.

He is set to make his debut at a pair of Michigan tracks this weekend with the All Stars. Helms and the series will race on Saturday at Hartford Speedway in Hartford and Sunday at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa for the Tony Stewart presents the Inaugural Dirty 30.
