26 Promotions – Tucson, AZ – (October 2, 2019) – Cody Cambensy has been one of the hottest drivers in the Klein Engines Truck Series as of late, winning three of the last four series events and four of the last five events he’s entered.

But, after getting caught up in a wreck two weeks ago, Cambensy and his Tucson Motorsports Inc. team had some work to do to get the 22 truck ready for Saturday night’s Roadrunner/ Empire Caterpillar Night at Tucson Speedway.

“We unloaded with a quick truck right off the bat. In practice the truck was great anywhere I put it and had a bunch of speed,” said Cambensy. “With transponders not working, we didn’t know where we matched up to the other trucks, but I was pretty confident in the truck.”

Cambensy only gained more confidence as the night went on, winning his six-lap heat race by a straightaway which allowed him to move around the track to make sure he would be good for the feature.

Starting on the outside of the second row for the start of the 25-lap feature, Cambensy quickly went to work moving into the runner-up position and battling for the lead. After battling door to door, Cambensy cleared the 61 truck and stretch his lead out to over a straightaway.

With his spotter in his ear, Cambensy went into conserve mode just in case there was a late-race caution. The decision paid off as the caution flags flew with only six laps remaining. Cambensy knew if he couldn’t get the jump on the restart, the trucks behind him would be making aggressive moves to take over the lead. Cambensy got off to a clean start and cruised to his sixth feature win, crossing the line with a straightaway advantage over field.

“This was a great night for us considering what happened last race. I think we should have won the last one too, but to win five out of the last 6 races is a great accomplishment for us,” explained Cambensy. “Our team has a great truck and Brandon Farrington has this thing on rails. Looking forward to finishing the season strong!”

Cambensy will enter the Klein Engines Thunder Truck Series finale at Tucson Speedway on October 26th just 30-points back in the championship standings.

Cody Cambensy would like to thank Dustin Ash Motorsports, Brandon Farrington, Josh Hitchiner, Terry Sukalski, Temperature Control, Davis Motorsports, Grace Boutique, Wells Johnson, Port of Tucson, Lawley Chevrolet, K1 RaceGear, Fiveone Media, and AZ Litho for their support.
