26 Promotions - Tucson, AZ - (August 21, 2019) - After a frustrating ending three weeks ago that ended with a heavily damaged truck, Cody Cambensy was back in action at Tucson Speedway looking to find the top of the podium for the first time since late January.

Lawley Chevrolet Killer Bees night kicked off with qualifying where Cambensy would miss the pole by .047 seconds.

“We were fast, and I just drove it in too deep and lost the nose missing the pole by just a little bit,” explained Cambensy. “With the invert, I would line up fifth. We knew it was going to be a tire game with two features, so we didn’t want to burn them up trying to get through the field.”

While tires were a concern, Cambensy wasted no time moving through the field. Crossing the line in second to complete lap one, Cambensy would take over the lead on lap two and was able to conserve tires from there taking the checkered with just under a four and a half-second lead over second to capture his second victory of the year.

The victory lane celebration wouldn’t last long as Cambensy and his Tucson Motorsports Inc. team went right back to work to prepare the truck for the second feature event of the night.

A top 10 invert from the first feature would set the field, lining Cambensy up on the outside of the fifth row.

“It was tight clean racing. I was able to make my way up through the middle of the field making it three-wide the first ten laps,” he said. “As soon as we cleared for second, we began to chase down the leader.”

Cambensy would catch and pass the 21 truck with 13 laps to go and would go on to secure his second win of the night.

“It was an awesome night that our team needed after the last few weeks. I can’t thank Brad and Joann for believing in me and letting me drive for them. Brandon Farrington has this truck on rails and I couldn’t do this without him,” said Cambensy. “It was a clean night of racing and we gained some momentum. We are looking forward to running with the Southwest Truck Tour in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks.”

Cody Cambensy would like to thank Dustin Ash Motorsports, Brandon Farrington, Josh Hitchiner, Terry Sukalski, Temperature Control, Davis Motorsports, Grace Boutique, Wells Johnson, Port of Tucson, Lawley Chevrolet, K1 RaceGear, Fiveone Media, and AZ Litho for their support.
