26 Promotions – Tucson, AZ – (September 18, 2018) – Cody Cambensy captured his second win of the year following a podium finish as the NASCAR Super Trucks ran two feature races at Tucson Speedway on Saturday night.

“We rolled off the trailer with a great truck,” said Cambensy. “In practice, I didn’t like the truck too much, so we came in and made a slight change. We went back out and ran third quick. In qualifying, I went a little too hard into turns three and four and the truck got tight, so we ended up qualifying third. I know we gave up a couple of tenths by doing that.”

With a six-car invert, Cambensy would start the first NASCAR Super Truck feature event on the outside of the fourth row.

“We battled pretty hard to get up and fight for the win,” he said. “We were side by side for about 15-laps for the lead, and I just got too impatient and burned off the right rear tire. I slipped back to third and let the tire cool down and just ran out of laps to get back to the lead.”

Cambensy would return to his pit with a podium finish in the first feature, and the team would go to work adjusting on the truck for the second 25-lap feature where Cambensy would grid the field eighth after the invert.

“We went three and four wide on the start, and we were able to get to second by lap six,” explained Cambensy. “We started battling for the lead, and I was trying to be patient and not burn off the tire again. Once we got to lap traffic, I used a car as a pick and was able to make the pass on the outside for the lead.”

Cambensy would go on to stretch out his lead to just under a half-second to secure his second win of the season.

“I’m extremely happy with how the night went,” he said. “Terry and I had the truck dialed in, and I really wish I would have just been more patient in the first race because we should have won that race too. We were able to close up the gap in the championship standings, so the last two races of the season should be exciting.”

Cambensy returns to Tucson Speedway with the NASCAR Super Trucks on September 29th for Empire Cat Night.

Cody Cambensy would like to thank his family, TMI Motorsports, Temperature Control INC., Levin Racing, Castle Roofing, Port of Tucson, Tucson Frozen Storage, Dirt Works Contracting, Desert RV, Road Runner Pizza, GAT Racing, Ron Norman, and Fiveone Media for their continued support.
