Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Sept. 26, 2022) – Jack Dover enters the Casey’s Midwest Fall Brawl focused on finding Victory Lane.
I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., hosts the 360ci winged sprint car event this Saturday. It’s a marquee show that Dover has won in the past and it’s likely his final 360 sprint car event of the season.
“It would mean a lot to win,” he said. “We haven’t had the stellar year that I’ve wanted or we’ve had in the past. To go out and win a pretty big race, maybe being the last 360 race there, would be special.”
Dover has one win, two podiums and three top 10s in six 360 sprint car starts at the track this season. However, he was leading two other races and was running second in a third when mechanical problems derailed strong runs.
“A lot of it is we’ve had bad luck,” he said. “I’d say we’ve had a shot at winning more races. I think three of the five nights when we had mechanical issues we were leading or in second place. And then we had to take more weekends off than expected because of the mechanical issues.”
Dover, who is the defending track champion, enters the event ranked third in the I-80 Speedway championship standings – only 26 points behind second and 50 points out of the lead.
“Every year we want to go out on a good note,” he said. “We’re doing everything we can so we can show up well in front of our fans and partners this weekend.”
While Saturday is likely the final 360 sprint car start of the season, Dover has five 410ci sprint car races planned to close out the year.
