“Dynamite” Dobmeier Strikes Top Fives and a Win
Dobmeier won his third feature event in a row at River Cities Speedway this past weekend making that his 7th win of the season. Mark started out the night by finishing third in the heat race on the fast 4/10 mile clay oval setting the Senske & Son Right Choice Electric #13 on the inside of the fifth row for the start of the main event.
Mark made short work of getting to the front, as he had the lead with 17 laps to go. Staying in front throughout the remainder of the laps, Lunstra/Dobmeier Motorsports nailed their 3rd straight at River Cities. “The car was on a rail!” exclaims Dobmeier, “I can’t thank everyone enough for putting in all the time that we do, working on things and making us faster and faster every week.”
Taking the momentum from the win at River Cities Speedway, the team made the 10 hour trek to Knoxville Raceway for their weekly Saturday night program. Dobmeier qualified 10th quick out of the 30 entries with a 15.699 time on the ½ mile and then lined up on the inside of the second row for the start of the heat. Dobmeier moved up to second in the first lap and finished in the number two spot behind the #17a of Austin McCarl.
“We have had a very decent season going for us,” says the driver of the Senske & Son Right Choice Electric #13, “we have won a couple here at Knoxville and we look forward to coming here every week. Going into the feature, we had a great car, so I knew we could move forward.”
Mark capped off the night with a fifth, just ahead of the #24 machine driven by Terry McCarl.
With a win at River Cities Speedway and a top five at Knoxville, Lunstra/Dobmeier Motorsports went to Huset’s Speedway with great confidence. The team qualified 3rd quick, just a tenth off pole setter Zach Zimmerly and followed that with a heat race win and a fifth place starting position for the main event.
“The track was very decent and ‘racey’,” says Mark, “We had a great car once again, but once the top three guys got going up front it was hard to catch them. We got up to third, which is good, and it certainly makes for a great weekend of racing.”
This Friday at the home track of River Cities Speedway will be the next event for Lunstra/Dobmeier Motorsports followed by Knoxville on Saturday and Huset’s on Sunday. Next Thursday, Mark will be going after an All Star Circuit of Champions victory at Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo, North Dakota followed by the All Star events at Huset’s Speedway.
