Saturday Night was Another Successful Race Night at Wagmaon's Ogilvie Raceway as 100 Bikes Were Given to Kids During Intermission.

Ogilvie, MN (August 12) – After a scheduled week off, Wagamon’s Ogilvie Raceway was back in action Saturday and the night featured the WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mod Fours and Hornets as well as 100 Bikes being given away. The night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Race action was sponsored by Septic Check with Parker Anderson, Jeremy Nelson, Zach Benson, Jeff Ekdahl, Tyler Larson and Brady Albertson taking home hardware.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds were the first feature on the agenda with Nick Ayotte and Zach Benson on row one. Benson snagged the immediate lead, but Ayotte didn’t let the #17b get far away. Ayotte dropped low to challenge Benson for the lead as the yellow flag waved. A handful of cautions kept the drivers at a stop and go pace, and after a red flag for fence repair, the race was back underway. Benson remained in command, but a few more cautions occurred before the checkers waved. At the races’ conclusion it was Zach Benson who took the win. Nick Ayotte, Mark Froehlich, Travis Schulte and Cole Boston wrapped up the top points.

Ryan Kostreba and Jordan Henkemeyer brought the WISSOTA Super Stocks to the stand and as the race began, they remained side by side. Both Kostreba and Henkemeyer swapped for the top point as the yellow flag waved. When the race resumed, Brandon Duellman made the pass for first and pulled away, while others battled for points. As more cautions were triggered, Jermey Nelson took the lead and Henkemeyer held second. Mike Loomis moved into third and put pressure on Henkemeyer as Henkemeyer suffered a mechanical issue and left the raceway. Loomis assumed second and made a run after Nelson for the lead however Jeremy Nelson held the point and took the win. Mike Loomis, Ryan Kostreba, Russell Kostreba and Jeff Frey rounded out the top five.

Kyle Howland claimed the immediate lead as the WISSOTA Street Stocks took the green while Jeff Ekdahl went from sixth to second. Ekdahl dropped low on the track surface and slid by Howland as the yellow waved. Ekdahl led the drivers back to green while the race for second was nearly four-wide. Jim Gullikson and Andrew Hanson battled for second as Kaden Woodie joined the fun. Gullikson edged out the point and looked ahead at Ekdahl. However, Jeff Ekdahl stretched his lead to nearly a straight-away and took his #11jr to victory lane. Remaining top points went to Jim Gullikson, Kaden Woodie, Andrew Hanson and Justin Pogones.

Todd Gehl and Brandon Mehrwerth led the field of WISSOTA Modifieds to the green and Mehrwerth took the lead for the first lap. Adam Ayotte snuck his way into second and quickly made his move into first. After a quick caution, Ayotte stretched his lead while others fought for positions. Jody Bellefeuille took second and chased after Ayotte with laps clicking by. Bellefeuille caught and passed Ayotte for the lead as Ayotte slowly dropped in the pack. Bellefeuille maintained the lead as a caution triggered and then found Parker Anderson on his heels. Anderson dropped low on the surface and snuck by Bellefeuille. Bellefeuille reclaimed the lead, but Anderson didn’t get the #11 get away. With the checkers raised, Bellefeuille caught a soft spot on the track and Parker Anderson sped away with the win. Jody Bellefeuille settled for second with Dave Cain, Eric Lamm and JT Johnson rounding out the top five.

The WISSOTA Mod Fours took the clay with Robert Holtquist and Connor Hass on row one, and as the green waved, Holtquist took the lead. Tyler Larson raced the high line and slid past Holtquist which left both Holtquist’s, Hass and Tommy Pogones fighting for second. Dustin Holtquist took the second point while Pogones worked Robert Holtquist for third. After a quick caution, Larson brought the drivers to green, however Dustin Holtquist and Pogones moved to Larson’s sides. They were three-wide for first as Dustin Holtquist edged out the lead, however Larson kept after the #5h. With three laps to go, Larson and Holtquist were side by side for the lead, and with the checkers raised, Tyler Larson kept his car straight coming out of the curve and to take the win. Dustin Holtquist settled for second with Tommy Pogones, Robert Holtquist and Connor Hass taking points three through five.

The WISSOTA Hornets closed out the race program, and as the green waved, racers were nearly five-wide in the turn. Marcus Ammerman took the top point with Brady Albertson and Brandon Nyberg on his bumper. Albertson chased after Ammerman’s #11A as Carter Matthews put pressure on Nyberg. Albertson slowly closed the gap with Ammerman, and with a handful of laps to go, Albertson was at Ammerman’s door. Ammerman broke away from Albertson as they put drivers down a lap, but Albertson came back. Brady Albertson led the final lap of the event and took the win followed by Marcus Ammerman, Brandon Nyberg, Carter Matthews and Joseph Wilber.

Next Saturday at Wagamon’s Ogilvie will be Meet the Driver’s night and the WISSOTA Late Models will be back on the schedule as the Street Stocks will have the night off. Racing will resume at 6:30pm.
